Index -> Glossary -> Game Text
Appearing in the box below a card's image, game text describes the actions you can perform with that card and the effects they will have.
When one card's game text says you "can" do something and another card says that you "can't," the latter takes precedence.
For example, the card Tranquility says, "Players can't begin raids." The game text of the Fippy Darkpaw unit card lets you begin a raid. The text of Tranquility prevents you from beginning a raid using the text of Fippy Darkpaw.)
When the game text on a card is separated into multiple parts by line breaks, each of those parts of game text is unrelated to the other.
Example: Runed Sash of Fury says, "Whenever combat begins involving your avatar, gain 2 power." Then after a line break, it says, "Whenever combat begins involving your avatar, lose 2 power." If that item is destroyed before combat ends, the second part of its game text never takes place.
Example: Infernal Sacrament says, "When you play this ability, choose a quest. Take up to three units from your discard pile and play them at that quest for no cost. At the end of the turn, destroy those units. [Evil] Gain 3 power." There is no line break. If that ability is destroyed before the end of the turn in which that game text is used, the units played are still destroyed.
